Beliefs

We believe:

  1. In the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments as revealed by God Himself. (Ex. 24:4; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Rom. 16:25-26; 2 Pet. 1:19-21)
  2. The Bible is absolute in its authority, complete in its revelation, final and without error in its content, and is the sole rule for faith and practice. (Deut. 4:1-2; Ps. 19:7-10; John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-17)
  3. In one God Who is sovereign, almighty, holy, unchanging, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Mal. 3:6; Mk. 1:9-11; Rom. 11:36; Rev. 4:8)
  4. In a literal six-day creation by the Word of God, as detailed in Genesis 1-2, opposed to other views. (Gen. 1-2; John 1:1-4)
  5. In the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless perfection, His blood atonement on the cross for the sins of the world, His bodily resurrection, and His current intercessory work at the right hand of the Father in heaven. (Matt. 1:18-23; Rom. 8:34; Col. 1:13-22; 1 Pet. 1:21-24; Heb. 1:8)
  6. In the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust. Those who have been born again will spend eternity in heaven and the unsaved will spend eternity in hell. (1 Cor. 15:35-58; Rev. 20:1-22:13)
  7. That man in his natural state is dead in sins, the enemy of God, alienated from God, and totally incapable of any personal effort for the attainment of salvation. (Gen. 3; Rom. 1-3)
  8. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The free gift of eternal life is available to all that look to Christ and trust in His shed blood. (Rom. 4-5; Eph. 2:8-9)
  9. It is each person’s duty to repent and believe the gospel. (Mk. 1:15; James 2:14-26)
  10. That once a person has eternal life he cannot lose it. (Jn. 10:25-30; Rom. 8:31-39)
  11. That the Holy Spirit gifts believers in many different ways to edify the body of Christ and glorify God. (Eph. 4:1-16; Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12)
  12. That the local church is a group of called-out, baptized believers and its purpose is evangelism, edification, and the exaltation of Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47)
  13. There are two ordinances in the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is for believers only and immersion signifies union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection to newness of life. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of what He did for us and a reminder that He is coming again. (Matt. 3:13-17; Matt. 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-29)
  14. That every child of God is commanded to follow Christ as Lord and live separated from the world. (Matt. 16:24-26; Rom. 6-8; 1 Cor. 10:31)
  15. That sexual intimacy is a wonderful gift of God that is only to be expressed between a man and a woman within the love and bonds of marriage. Therefore, we believe that any other form of sexual intimacy is both immoral and a perversion of God’s gift. (Gen. 2:18-25; 1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4.)
  16. That all human life is valuable because life is given and overseen by God. This means that we oppose racism and stand for the sanctity of life, both unborn and born. (Gen. 1:26-27; Psalm 139)
  17. That human gender is given by God alone and is a biological construct created and determined by God Himself. (Gen. 1:26-27)
  18. That fellowship with known and vital error is participation in sin. (2 Cor. 6; 2 Timothy 2:15-19)

Statement on Final Authority and Interpretation For CLM

  • The Bible is our final authority for all matters of faith, practice, and life. We operate based off its contents and not our personal feelings or cultural sway. Where the Bible is specifically silent, we use its principles to come to the best conclusion.
  • The human conduits for decision-making and interpretation for this ministry is the executive team; including the board, president, and any employees they deem necessary.
