Your emotions are not infallible. In fact, you should not trust them. So never give too much credence to your moods.
Don’t indulge in self-pity, or doomsday thinking. Whatever you are going through is only a “season” and it will pass.
You must get beyond your emotional swings. There are practical things you can do to stabilize your soul. Stop listening to yourself… and start talking to yourself. When David was depressed, he asked himself why he was downcast, and immediately told himself to trust the Lord. Then he launched into worship (Ps.42:5). Regardless of how you feel, praise God out loud with your lips. Set your mind on things above. Start counting your blessings. Write down at least 10 things for which you are thankful.
While you are Battling, make it your business to Build up someone else. On the Cross, Jesus helped the thief beside Him. So it’s possible to help others even when you cannot find help yourself! Intentionally encouraging others will have a beneficial effect on you, as well as the other person. Doing simple things like this will assist in reprogramming your thinking processes.
It may be bad now; but seasons always change. Remember God is WITH you, FOR you, and IN you. Forget about how you feel and do the next thing. By faith TAKE VICTORY… and keep plowing. The sun will shine again!
